Sinusitis is a condition where the tissue lining your nasal sinuses becomes inflamed and swollen. Your sinuses are hollow spaces in your skull, around your eyes and nose, and they produce mucus to keep the inside of your nose moist.

When the sinuses get inflamed, they can’t drain properly, and mucus builds up. This can lead to a feeling of congestion or a stuffy nose. Sinusitis can becaused by various factors, such as a viral or bacterial infection, allergies, or irritants like smoke.

Common Symptoms of Sinusitis are nasal congestion (Feeling stuffy or blocked in the nose), Runny Nose (Often with thick, discolored mucus), Facial Pain or Pressure (Around the eyes,forehead,or cheeks), Headache (Especially in the forehead area) and Loss of Smell (Some people may experience a reduced sense of smell).

In Siddha system of medicine Sinusitis is known as Peenisa Noi also named as Thalai Neer by Kanyakumari Tradition. Alot of internal medicines, external medicine likes calpoil, nasal drops,Akranam powders, Uchi Podi are available in Siddha medicine to settle peenisa noi. Avoid drowning in the water resources will be strictly followed by the sufferers for better result.
